Hi, I’m Matt.
I’m a musician, composer, sound designer, writer and performer based in Tasmania. I finished a Bachelor of Contemporary Arts (Theatre Major) in 2021, and since then I’ve been lucky enough to spend most of my time making things for the stage.
A lot of what I do happens behind the scenes. Most recently I designed the soundscape for Enough by Gabrielle Adkins (Mudlark, 2026). In 2025 I wrote and composed Thrice-Cooked Hamm, a choose-your-own-adventure musical. It earned me and director Jimmy Harrison a Special Judge’s Award at the Tasmanian Theatre Awards, which I’m still a bit chuffed about. I’ve also been working with Bindy Stephens at Happy Habits for a few years now. I compose, do the sound design and co-direct kids’ shows like Mother Nature, Teddies & Bin: Rhyme & Sing, Knock Knock and Calm Down Kanga. Other credits include A Clockwork Orange (Launceston Players) and Things I Know To Be True (Three River).
I still get up on stage too. I’ve been fortunate to win Best Male Lead for Radiant Vermin and Best Male Supporting for Chess: The Musical at the Tasmanian Theatre Awards. I’ve also toured schools around the state as Isaac in Stressica.
Have a look around, and if you’ve got a project in mind, say hello.
